My name is Kristen and I am a busy, work-from-home mom of three wonderful kids. Between myself and my three children we are allergic to: Beef, Milk, Eggs, Cats, Wasps, Shellfish, Almonds, Walnuts, Pollen, Goldenrod, Ragweed and Vinegar.
I also can’t use or be around someone who has used perfumes or lotions that are heavily fragranced.
I already have a personal blog, Shelf Life, but is pretty much a book blog. I do book reviews and cover reveals and giveaways. I’ve been wanting to blog about our allergy experiences and just everyday life things for a while, but those things didn’t really fit in with the content of my book blog. I didn’t think I had time to keep up two blogs, and didn’t want to let my book blog go, so I kept pushing this idea aside. I’ve written some articles and shared some of my experiences on other food allergy websites, but I really wanted something that belonged to me.
When my oldest child was first diagnosed when he was just shy of two years old, I knew absolutely nothing about food allergies and most of our journey has been a huge learning experience. I’ve received advice and support at times, but in the beginning I had no one to talk to that understood my experiences and I wasn’t aware of many resources. There may not have been that many at that time anyway, this was nearly ten year ago! But I have learned so much through trial and error and my own experience, and here recently by becoming more involved in the food allergy community. All I have ever wanted all along is to share my experiences and help as many people as I can. I also want to spread awareness to EVERYONE whether they have food or any other allergies or not.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you like what you read!
